Shannon is currently pursuing an MFA in Modern Dance at the University of Utah where she received the 2009-2010 Graduate Teaching Assistantship. Shannon performed in Edgar Zendejas “Ziji” and in Nicholas Leichter’s. “Free the Angels” featured in the Performing Dance Company spring and fall showcases. Before her graduate work, Shannon was the director of the Mountain View High Dance Program, producing nine concerts, and choreographing three major musicals. Shannon holds a B.A. in Dance Education from BYU where she performed with the Ballroom Dance Company and contemporary company, Dancensemble. Shannon’s diverse background also includes jazz, lyrical, ballet, precision, hip-hop, and character and she promotes a dance philosophy based on the integration of all dance genres. Shannon has also appeared in the annual Mormon Tabernacle Choir Christmas Concert, the 2002 Olympic Opening Ceremonies, and was a top-five finalist at the Miss Dance Drill USA pageant, 1998.
