Heather Hatch

owner/director

Heather began her training in dance as a young child growing up in Portland, Oregon. She was a member of Rose City Ballet, Elan Dance Company, and Vancouver Theatre of the Performing Arts throughout junior high and high school. She was also captain of her state champion high school dance team, awarded several college dance scholarships and the title of “Miss Super Sensational Dancer of Oregon” in 1999 and 2000 by USA Dance.

Heather moved to Salt Lake City to attend the University of Utah’s Ballet Department and graduated with a degree in Fine Arts specializing in ballet performance. During her time at the U she performed in numerous productions and also choreographed for the University’s Student Showcase. Upon graduation, she danced with Odyssey 2 under the direction of Derryl Yeager and Bonnie Story and performed in productions such as “Thriller” and “Shut Up and Dance”. She became a Grizz Girl for the Grizzlies Hockey Team, and her dance skills were put to the ultimate test on ice! Even though she was busy dancing herself, she still found the most joy in teaching and choreographing for local studios and schools.

Heather created Tiny Toes Dance in 2009 – a dance instruction company that travels to different daycares in Salt Lake and the surrounding areas to offer dance lessons to young children while at school. Tiny Toes is a growing, thriving business today and provides the opportunity to dance to hundreds of children across the valley.

A dedicated Utes fan, she enjoys traveling, hiking, and is a proud mother of three children. She is excited to continue sharing her knowledge and love of dance with The Dance Company!
